Wondering about the future of New Jersey’s newspapers? “The Crisis in the New Jersey Newspaper Industry; Current Cuts, Future Transformations” is the subject of a panel discussion to be held at Rutgers University on Wednesday, October 1. Panelists include Star Ledger Statehouse reporter Robert Schwaneberg; author Jerome Aumente, whose prescient 2007 book “From Ink on Paper to the Internet: Past Challenges and Future Transformations for New Jersey’s Newspapers” won the national research prize of the Society of Professional Journalists in July, and David Blomquist, a former Record Statehouse reporter who now directs the Newhouse papers’ nj.com website.
